Sympathy SC169, CC159

Grants step-mother's mom recently passed away and we are not going to be able to make it to the funeral. So this weeks SC169 and CC159 (which I can now do since getting sheets of all of the SU cardstock) on SCS inspired this card that we will send to his Dad and step-mother.


This card uses Bazzill Basics black textured cardstock instead of SU Basic black because I like the textured feel and I don't have that in the SU stock. The other cardstock is Whisper white and bashful blue. The designer paper is from the Prints Pack the Level 1 hostess set in bashful blue.

The saying is from the SU set Curvy Verses and the rose is from the SU Embrace Life set. Both images are stamped in SU basic black. The rose is coloured in using SU stamping pastels in bashful blue and detail was added using the blender pens. The ribbon is from Michaels and matched perfectly - it is the $0.59 stuff. Inside the card, I put another piece of bashful blue cardstock to write on and stamped in the bottom right corner the top of the rose from the front of the card.

Hopefully, they will enjoy it. I know it won't make up for not attending the funeral, but at least they will know they are in our thoughts!
