One Sketch Two Looks

I was playing with the new "in colours" and love the way they look with basic gray so I decided to make a couple of cards using the same layout to see which I liked better. The panels are straight on the cards but for some reason no matter what angle I photographed them they looked crooked. This card is made using rich razzleberry and basic gray. It turned out a bit darker than I had hoped for - a little bit depressing actually. Definitely needs a hint of a brighter colour for my taste, but Grant likes it better than the following card. This card is made with melon mambo, basic gray and going gray. It is definitely my favourite of the two. I love how the grays make the mambo pop. Seeing as the ribbon in melon mambo is polka dot, I just used the other side of the ribbon so that it looks like plain grosgrain since I thought the dots made it look too busy!

For both cards, I cut a really skinny strip of paper in the desired colour for each card to thread through the holes of the button. So simple! I just wish the lines of the corduroy were all going the same direction in relation to the holes!

I like both of them! I love the idea of doing the same card in different colors -- it makes a great gift set!
