I created this card to fulfill two different challenges this week over at SCS, both the Colour Challenge 164 (CC164) and the Card Sketch Challenge 174(SC174). CC164 was to use sky blue, basic black and purely pomegranate. I never would have thought to combine these colours but I really like them together. I will be said when these "In Colours" will be retired!
I was surprised too to see that the Sketch Challenge involved making a tall card, which I had already made (Bugs and Kisses) below but it didn't have the extra details to fulfill the sketch.
The designer paper used on the front here is from the "Fall Flowers" set. The stamp is from SAB "Lots of Thoughts" and is stamped in purely pomegranate and basic black. I can't remember who made the brads! You can see part of the inside of the card at the right side which shows the stampin around wheel "perfectly pretty" stamped in sky blue. The ovals were cut using my Creative Memories cutting system.
On the inside here, other than the stampin around wheel, I have used the SU rubon from the SAB set "love and happiness."

Bugs and Kisses
I saw the SU Bugs and Kisses set and had to have it even though I couldn't really think of much use for it! It's just too cute! Anyone else have that problem?
Well I'm using it anyway and will have to find a use for these cards because I like this set so much.
This 4 x 8 1/2" tall card was made with SU old olive, whisper white and soft sky cardstock along with the Fall Flowers designer paper. The images were all stamped in Old Olive with the blank sections coloured in with blender pens and soft sky ink. The soft sky circles were cut using my Creative Memories circle cutters at 2.5" with the inner circle cut out at 2". The images inside the blue circles were cut circular at 2.25" so when the blue circles were attached the images looked like they were behind the circles.

Ribbon Weaving
I've seen this technique being used a lot recently since Kristina Werner posted a video on how to creat it. You can find her tutorial here. It's such a simple technique that I never would have thought of and it looks beautiful. I don't think you need to add much else to the card to make it look great.
This card was very simple. It just involved a lot of layering of SU whisper white cardstock and old olve (which is my new favorite colour). I created the ribbon weave with SU old olive 5/8" ribbon. I added the rubon thinking of you from the SU Love and Happiness rubons in old olive that were part of SAB then just pierced underneath the sentiment.

Birthday Blessings with Cricut
This is a card I made a while ago but thought I would share since I don't seem to be using my cricut too often these days but really like the sayings that it can make. I've been too preoccupied using my new SU stuff. I'm hoping it will inspire me to use my cricut more than just for cutting shapes!
This is a matchbox style card using Bazzill Basics pink and brown cardstock with KI Memories double sided designer paper "It's a girl thin stripe." The brad is MM jumbo brads. Not much to say about it, because it's a fairly simple card but I quite like it.
Don't forget it is the last day to enter for my blog candy!

Square Birthday Gift Card Holder
So I saw these cute gift card holders that Robin made here and knew I had to try them out especially when she said how easy they were - and it actually was really easy. I used SU sticky strip to fix my edges together for a strong hold.
This card was made using Bazzill Basics red cardstock (my SU real red is in my delayed order), old olive and whisper white cardstock. The dp is SU Summer Picnic - I wish this were not part of the occassions mini so that it would stick around longer! The front uses SU old olive cardstock punched with the scallop punch with a Making Memories grommet inside of it, then the SU stamp from "Circle of friendship is in the center stamped in real red and old olive ink. The ribbon is the Spool O'Ribbon available at Michaels.
This is what the inside of the card looks like and I added a little bit of the designer paper so it would not be so plain looking.
This is the insert that a little message could be written on along wtih the gift card. The SU Tart and Tangy stamp is stamped in real red and old olive ink.

Bright Birthday with KI and SU
This is a birthday card I made using KI Memories and SU products. I love how bright and cheery it looks - plus I think it could be used for a boy or girl.
The cardstock is SU tempting turquoise and whisper white. The red dp is Provocraft from the Celebration series; the striped dp is KI Memories Surprise Napkin. The turquoise ribbon is from Michael's $0.59 Spool O'Ribbon. The presents are rubons from KI Memories Surprise series. The happy birthday image is from the SU Birthday Whimsy set stamped in tempting turquoise ink.

Double Pocket Card Challenge
It's a week late but here is my submission for SCS TLC164. I had made it last week but didn't post it because I was waiting for my SU pretty in pink ink to arrive so I could stamp a couple of images on the tag inserts, but due to the snow my shipment has been delayed. So here it is with the tags still blank - when I do get the ink I will be stamping the baby stamp from the So Many Scallops set on there along with the baby one from Curvy Verses.
I had never tried this technique before and I quite like it - although it does use quite a bit of paper! You can find the directions for this card here. I was planning on using mine to put a gift card attached to the front tag with a glue dot and then write the message on the bigger second tag.
This card was made using SU "Spring Fling" dp, pretty in pink cardstock, certainly celery cardstock and whisper white cardstock. The flower is Prima and set using the SU build-a-brad set with a punch out from Spring Fling. The eyelets are Provocraft and ribbon SU white organdy.

Blog Candy!!
I was so excited to see that I reached over 1000 "unique" visitors while I was back in Calgary again! I know it is not much for most, but it is for me. When Grant suggested I start blogging I thought it was pointless because no one would read it, but I was wrong. It's exciting to start seeing people come back more than once to see what I am up to.
So to celebrate, I am offering up some blog candy!
Everything in the picture is up for grabs for those in the US and Canada.
This candy contains:
-5 rolls of ribbon (4 yards each - will be mailed off the roll for convenient shipping)
-1 Studio G stamp set
-1 Studio G notepad to alter with a purple pen (you can see an example here)
-1 Sandylion Essentials "HO" stickers with rhinestones for "O"
It my not be much, but hey, I just got started and it's still fun!
In order to qualify for this blog candy, please leave a comment saying which of my projects I have posted is your favorite and what you like about it. I will draw for a winner on Sunday April 27.
Thanks for checking out my blog.

Two Takes on Thank Ewe
Here are two different takes of the same stamp using two different sketch challenges. You'll have to excuse the not so great pictures but it's 10pm.
This card is for Beate's WSC44. I wanted to get on this one right away because I missed last weeks challenge!
This card is for SC172 over at SCS. I skipped last weeks just because I wasn't too keen on the sketch so it didn't get me thinking of anything I liked enough to try out.
Both cards are made with SU close to cocoa and pretty in pink cardstock with the berry bliss dp. The stamp is from the SU set Pun Fun, which is definitely one of my favorites. I am still waiting for more SU ink to arrive so I stamped it in VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink and coloured it in with SU stamping pastels in close to cocoa and pretty in pink. The eyelets are from Provocraft.

Notepad
Michael's has these little notepads with pens from Studio G on sale right now for only $1. I bought a few because the pens come in different colours too so you can match it to whatever paper/design you want!
I recovered this notepad with SU Berry Bliss designer paper - super easy! To add a little more interest I added some SU purely pomegranate cardstock. I stamped the embrace life stamp in basic black on some whisper white cardstock and coloured the image in with blender pens and purely pomegranate ink. The circle is punched with the SU 1 1/4" and matted with the purely pomegrante scallop punch.

And Now for Something Completely Different...
Ok, well this is something I created because I'd made one of these albums a long time ago and wanted to see how much easier it would be now that I've been paper crafting for a much longer time.
The pictures do not do this album justice at all. I couldn't get it to photograph well because it is long and not bright outside. This album is made out of the leftover spool from a roll of ribbon!
This is the top of the album.
This is a weird angle but it is what the spool looks like open so you can see how the lid attaches on and how the album sits right inside the center. This image makes it look messy - but I promise it is not.
This picture shows one side of the album as it is pulled out of the container.
This shows the other side of the album where pictures can be added.
I don't even know anyone having a girl - but I guess I'll have this for when someone does. The last one I made was a LOVE one for Valentine's Day for Grant. This works better with short words and few dimensional embellishments so that the ribbon spool still closes.
I have not seen anyone make one of these so if there is enough interest, I could create a tutorial.
Now for the products used:
I used my Cricut to cut all the circles because it goes really quick but you could also use circle punches
An empty ribbon spool
SU cardstock in certainly celery, pretty in pink and barely banana
SU designer paper "Spring Fling" (I know the cardstock should have been so saffron to match but I found the barely banada matched really well anyway and I liked that shade a bit better).
SU stamps from "Curvy Verses" and "So many scallops"
Ink: SU certainly celery and Versamagic pixie dust
Ribbon from Michaels $0.59 in yellow and pink
Prima flower
Making Memories flower brads
Jewel - I don't know where it came from

WSC42 Lots of Thoughts
It's late but here is my card for Beate's WSC42.
This is made using SU river rock, old olive and soft sky cardstock. The dp is SU fall flowers - which is one of my favorite sets of designer papers. The colours and patterns are so nice. The stamp is from the SAB set "lots of thoughts" and is stamped in old olive ink. The ribbon is the river rock double stitched ribbon. The blue brads are from Making Memories and match perfectly with the soft sky - you would never know they weren't SU.
I really like the way this card turned out. It's so simple but neat!

In Loving Memory of Parker
Another sad post unfortunately. A little boy that I was at one point very close to, lost his battle with cancer after fighting for 3 years. I will be going back home for his funeral this weekend and at the request of his Mother, all who knew him well are to write a story about him that they remember so that she can have all of them scrapbooked for her and her other son to view later.
I wanted to share this post for my own sake really. This has been a very upsetting loss for me as I spent almost everyday for four months with this boy and he stole my heart. He was so much fun and loved superheros. I will never forget him - he is MY superhero!
This is the paper that I have written my story on. It is SU not quite navy and soft sky with the Friendship blooms stamp inked in not quite navy.
I'm hoping this will be the last death I have to cope with at least for a long time. As we say in the hospital, these things tend to come in threes, and I've had my three now in the last two months.
Hope you are all starting off a better year than I am.

SC170 Fruity Birthday
Well this card is just in time for SC170 before it changes to another challenge tomorrow. I have been wanting to use this SU stamp set "tart and tangy" since I got it but have been preoccupied with the sympathy cards and work. So I pulled it out for this challenge.
The cardstock is SU real red, old olive and whisper white. The dp is SU Summer Picnic which I absolutely love. The colour combos for that set are great! The inks used are SU real red, old olive and pumpkin pie. I had to again carefully line up the stamps in my SU stampin spots since I do not own the markers (they are too expensive for me!). The ribbon is SU real red 1/4'' grossgrain.
The other stamp set used for the saying is SU "full of life". Both of the stamp sets used are from the Occassions Mini Catalogue that runs until May 31.

CASEing Jen 70
I saw this card that Jen70 posted on SCS and her blog Stamping Therapy and new right away that I had to CASE it. I made a few very minor alterations to make it in a way that was a little bit of my own.
The card is now 5" square as I buy 6" square envelopes from my LSS. The colour is SU cameo coral cardstock and ink (the picture doesn't really show the ink matching the cardstock for some reason but it matches perfect) along with the SU whisper white. The stamps (Friendship blooms) and rubons (Love and Happiness) I used were both from the SU SAB catalogue. The ribbon at the top is SU white organdy. I'm not sure about the ribbon but it looked so plain without it. For extra dimesion the cameo coral square with the rub on is attached with a pop dot.
This card is for LSC162 to use only one colour along with white as well as WT160 to use rubons over at SCS.

Pocket Birthday
I've been working quite a bit right now so I haven't had time to make any new cards, but I thought I would share this pocket card I made in November. It was part of the set I made to give to my sister for Christmas and was my first attempt at a pocket card. You can find instructions for a pocket card here.
This card uses Bazzill Basics cardstock in blue and yellow and DCWV glittered designer paper stack. The bday image is a rubon by Studio G and the buttons were ones that I had on hand from old sewing projects - the colour matches much better than the picture shows. The clip at the top of the insert is Provo Craft snap ease fasteners. The colour matches the green in the cardstock perfect but also didn't photo well even with editing.
