Tart & Tangy Collection
So I've decided that I would like to make gift card sets using some of my favorite sets ever since I made the Pun Fun one here. The next set I chose to do was SU Tart & Tangy since the occasions mini catalogue has been extended and this set is so cute especially with summer right around the corner!
This set of 4 cards was made entirely with SU products. They use SU whisper white, old olive, pumpkin pie, real red and bashful blue cardstock. The SU designer paper series Summer picnic (I'll have to stock up in this before the catalogue finishes). The ink is all old olive, real red and pumpkin pie. Ribbon is real red and old olive.
Card 1: Apple
Card 2: Cherry
Card 3: Orange
Card 4: Strawberry - This one is a bit off on the stamping because I still just have to use my ink pads as I don't have the markers (which was difficult on the strawberry).
All of the cards are standard 4.25" x 5.5". They all use the SU scallop punch and 1 1/4" circle punch. The sentiments are from the SU set Short & Sweet. I don't know why but I have some sort of need to have a sentiment on my cards. They just look unfinished without to me; yet when other people don't have sentiments I think it looks fine. I guess it's just one of those weird things!

SC177, CC167 Thank you
I finally had time to do this weeks Sketch and Colour Challenges over at SCS. I combined both SC177 and CC167 into one card. I love this colour combination and I never would have thought of it on my own. I actually thought it even sounded like a bad combo until I checked out the gallery for the challenge!
The cardstock used is SU blue bayou and soft sky. The dp used is in certainly celery from the Spring Fling paper series. The stamped images are SU Embrace Life stamped in certainly celery and the flower from the SU Short & Sweet set stamped in soft sky and the thank you from the same set stamped in blue bayou.
I've never combined the different stamp sets as I did in this one and I like the way it turned out. I'll be trying to do this more often.

Lots to Share
Sorry for the long delay in posting but it has been for good reason - I have started a full time position at the hospital! As a result of the transition from casual to this, I had to work the last 7 out of 8 evenings so have not had much time for crafting.
Other fun news...Grant and I will be going to Mexico on May 31st for 2 weeks! I am so looking forward to this trip - It will mean another gap in my blog though!
I made up for the lack of crafting in the last week by going crazy with my Pun Fun set last night. I made a set of all 8 images that could be used for a workshop for beginners as the layouts are very easy and each card doesn't take long to make. The cards also highlight some of the great things SU has to offer such as matching ribbons, brads, eyelets and paper series. Sorry for the bad pictures, it has been raining non-stop here.
For these, I chose to use the East Coast Prep paper series 'cause I love the bright colours. I used the matching Tempting turqouise, real read and wild wasabi cardstock. The images are all stamped in StazOn Black ink and coloured with either stampin pastels or classic inks with blender pens (again showing the variety of options SU offers). Also, all of the stamped images are raised with pop dots. These cards don't need much explaining but if you have any questions let me know.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mother's out there who check my blog, and of course to my own Mom. No posts for a while as I went back home for a visit! Seeing as I just got home I thought I would make a quick post of an old (but good) card that I was thinking of reinventing lately with SU products!
The stamps are Studio G, the dp and ribbon are both from Costco, the cardstock Bazzill Basics and VersaMagic ink in Jumbo Java

LSC166 Birthday
This card is for LSC166 over at SCS. I haven't done one of these challenges yet but have been keeping an eye open for one that grabbed me. This one did because I have a card I made a while ago that I haven't shared and it fills the criteria perfectly. In fact I went really crazy with circle punches on this card!
The cardstock is Bazill Basics in the colours that coordinate with the Bazill Basics Chip Topper that was used on this card. The picture doesn't show it well but it's a grey-blue with lime green. I know it's a bit busy but I quite like it. I got the idea from all the circle stamps out there and when I saw all the circle cutters I had - I thought this might work too!

TLC 165 Birthday
Two weeks ago, the new technique (TLC165) to try was a gift card holder in a style that I had never seen before. I wanted to make it earlier but unfortunately my word window punch was on backorder - but now it has finally arrived! I know I could have used a different shape but I like the way it looks with the WW punch.
The cardstock used is SU real red, pumpkin pie and whisper white. The designer paper is SU Summer picnic - I love the tiny polka dots! The brad is SU real red.
The presents and sentiment are stamped from the SAB Birthday whimsy set in real red and pumkin pie. They were trimmed around the image and attached to the card with pop dots. I originially tried stamping them right on the designer paper, but they just didn't "pop" quite enough!
Inside the card, the cardstock is stamped in real red with the background basics stamp with stars - it seems everyone is using stars on their cards these days!
There are several different options for directions that use different dimensions, but I used the directions from Dawns Stamping Thoughts. You can find the directions here in a video tutorial.

SC173 Anniversary Card
This card is a bit late for SC173 over at SCS, but I had to wait to post it becasue it is the anniversary card I created to give to my boyfriend for our 6 year anniversary yeseterday April 30. I can't believe it has been that long already!
The cardstock is SU really rust and whisper white. The designer paper is SU Fall Flowers - I love the colours in this set! The ribbon is SU Old olive 5/8". The stamps are: SU Embrace Life stamped in StazOn black and coloured with blender pens and SU stamping pastels in Really rust; and define your life stamped in really rust and StazOn black ink.
I love the sayings that come with the Define Your Life set but often have a hard time incorporating them into cards but I thought this one was perfect for an anniversary card!
