I'll post the Valentine's I made before anything else since Valentine's has long since passed. This card is a CASE of one by Ann that you can see on her blog here.
I did change the original design up a bit to suit my tastes a bit more and utilize the supplies I had on hand. The only dry embossing I kept was the Adorning Accents textured impressions embossing folders. I changed the sentiment only because I love this one! Unfortunately, I had a hard time getting my baker's twine bow to look pretty so after fiddling with it for a while, I figured it looked good enough!
Stamps: SU You're My Type
Ink: SU basic black, cherry cobbler
Paper: SU ww, basic black, cherry cobbler
Ribbon: SU cherry cobbler bakers twine
Punch: SU Heart to Heart punch
Embossing Folder: SU Adorning Accents textured impressions
Misc: Paper snips, dimensionals

SFYTT Button Buddies
Once again, I'm a terrible blogger. Even if I make projects, I don't seem to be very good at getting pictures and posting them any time soon! Unfortunately, I wouldn't expect that to change any time soon - I've been quite busy between work, getting stuff done around the house and now to top it off, my Grandma just passed away, so I'll be going away for her funeral in the near future. I'm having a hard time managing and processing this as my Grandma and I were quite close and she is the only grandparent I had.
Anyways, here's the card I made for this months SFYTT.
Since buttons don't come in the "in colours", I simply used the stamp and covered it in Crystal effects for some added dimension. I love the way this card turned out. I like the sentiment for this card to because it really could be used for just about anything.
Stamps: SU Button Buddies, Bring on the Cake
Paper: SU lucky limeade, ww, Berry Blossoms dsp
Ink: SU lucky limeade, calypso coral
Punch: SU corner rounder
Misc: SU crystal effects, circle cutter

New Simply Soft CASE
I never even got around to finishing up making cards with all of my retiring stamp sets last month - I still had three more. Oh well, on to newer things!
As a demonstrator, we get a sneak peek of the new hostess sets in the new catalogue and are able to purchase a couple if we choose. I know it's another flower set, but I knew I wanted the simply soft set and I've had it in my possession for quite a while now but only just got around to stamping with it.
This is a CASE of this beautiful card by Karen. She always creates the most beautiful scenes like this using various techniques. This one involved what she calls "marker layering." It takes several shades of the same colour and layering them over one another leaving a little of each colour showing at the top. For this card I used pink pirouette, pretty in pink, regal rose and melon mambo. Karen also added a dot of white at the top of her flowers but it didn't look quite as nice without the dark contrast of her flowers so I opted to just leave it out.
Stamps: SU Simply Soft (hostess)
Ink: StazOn jet black, SU pink pirouette, pretty in pink, regal rose, melon mambo, certainly celery, lucky limeade
Paper: SU ww, pretty in pink, melon mambo
Ribbon: SU 5/8" pretty in pink satin
Misc: embossing folder

Getting Settled and 30th Anniversary
We're getting all settled in to the new house with not a lot left to unpack. It still doesn't feel like it's ours since we've never owned a house before but I'm sure that will come when we start getting the bills for it! Anyways, the point of this post is to share the card I made for my parents 30th wedding anniversary (which was on Monday)! Congratulations to them!
This card was inspired by this beautiful card by Lynn. I had to make it work with different stamps since I don't own that one. For the flowers I used the set Cottage Garden, cut them out and raised them on dimensionals. For the stems I used the set For All You Do and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up the way I wanted.
Stamps: SU Cottage Garden, For All You Do, Everything Nice
Ink: SU basic black, regal rose, pretty in pink
Paper: SU basic black, ww, regal rose, pretty in pink, pink pirhouette
Brads: SU pretty in pink
Ribbon: SU 1/4" black grosgrain
Misc: SU dimensionals

First Anniversary Card
Yesterday was Grant and my one year anniversary. Here's the card that I made for him using the new scallop circle sizzix die to create a shaped card.
I love the way this card turned out. Unforunately, most of the supplies I used for this card are not currently available from Stampin' Up! The heart image was part of the Occasions Mini catalogue and I'm really hoping that Stampin' Up! Will bring this set back as part of the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue being realeased in July!
I wish I had thought to take a picture of the inside of the card before I wrote in it as I had decorated it nicely too! Maybe next time!
Stamps: SU I {heart} hearts (unavailable), teeny tiny wishes
Ink: SU close to cocoa, ridinghood red (retired)
Paper: SU close to cocoa, very vanilla, pink pirhouette (retired but returning in July), candy lane dp (retired)
Ribbon: SU very vanilla taffeta
Brads: sending love epoxy brads (unavailable)
Die-cut: SU scallop circle

A Touch of Romance Tin
Here's another project from Andrea Walford's online class "A Touch of Romance". Scroll down to the previous post if you missed the first project. If you are interested in registering for the class check out this page on Andrea's blog.
This was the first project that Andrea shares in the class and it's my favourite of all the projects. For this project I really stylized it my own way to make it exactly the way I wanted and Andrea encourages you to do so. Also, if you don't have the tin, she offers a different but similar project/template. I combined the two different projects to create this one.
I am actually going to be giving the completed project to Grant later so I'm not sharing much information on what goes inside other than these little inserts. I'm trying not to let him see it "in person" until he gets it because I always find that pictures don't do projects justice (especially 3D items when you can't see all angles).
Stamps: SU A Happy Heart, Lots of Thoughts

Sage and Pink Floral
Just got a new batch of goodies from Stampin' Up! and I couldn't wait to try out the little leave sizzlit die! I love the way it looks when combined with the flowers from the fifth avenue floral set.
I did a lot of heat embossing on this card. I created the polka dot paper by stamping the dot dot dot stamp set on pretty in pink and embossing it in white. I also heat embossed the flower in white before cutting it out.
PS. The sizzlit dies work in a cuttlebug. If you don't want to invest in the big shot you can still use some of the dies if you own a cuttlebug!
Stamps: SU Fifth Avenue Floral, Dot Dot Dot
Ink: SU Versamark, sage shadow
Paper: SU ww, pretty in pink, sage shadow
Ribbon: SU 5/8" pretty in pink satin
Dies: SU little leaves sizzlit
Misc: SU white ep, paper snips, 1 1/4" square punch

FINALLY, a new post!
It's been a long time coming, and I'm not even showing any new catty supplies with this card! It uses some of my favourites though.
To create the shading on the flower I stamped the flower image in Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Once dry, I wet the paper with water and used my blender pen to add in some pink pirouette colour. Then when the paper dries it adds such a beautiful colour effect and the flower almost looks 3D! I can not take credit for this effect as I read it in a blog but since then so many have done it I'm not even sure where to give credit!

SC173 Anniversary Card
This card is a bit late for SC173 over at SCS, but I had to wait to post it becasue it is the anniversary card I created to give to my boyfriend for our 6 year anniversary yeseterday April 30. I can't believe it has been that long already!

The cardstock is SU really rust and whisper white. The designer paper is SU Fall Flowers - I love the colours in this set! The ribbon is SU Old olive 5/8". The stamps are: SU Embrace Life stamped in StazOn black and coloured with blender pens and SU stamping pastels in Really rust; and define your life stamped in really rust and StazOn black ink.
I love the sayings that come with the Define Your Life set but often have a hard time incorporating them into cards but I thought this one was perfect for an anniversary card!
