When this years SU catalogue came out I had to have the "So cool" rubons. I loved the colour combos, the images, and the sentiments that it had and I finally decided to take it out of my rubon stash and use it.Rubons are a great alternative to stamps if you are in a hurry, don't like/want to colour in the images, and they are quite inexpensive for the amount that you get in one package. Stampin Up offers so many different sentiments and images in rubons - just check out pages 178 and 179 of the catalogue. I have to admit that even though rubons are quick, this card took me forever - I had a really hard time deciding what colour to make which layers - in the end I'm really happy with the result. The main image is raised up on dimensionals.

Kind & Caring Thanks
I was cleaning around my stamp area and found this card that I never shared yet! It was the first card I made with any of the new in colours. The thank you sentiment (heat embossed with white embossing powder) bothers me a bit because somehow I must have shifted my stamp-a-ma-jig and it ended up a little crooked. I love the clean and simple look of this card - I don't tend to do ones with so few layers anymore but they can be so pretty!

MOJO108 Snowman Sketch
I finally feel like I'm starting to get back to my old self when it comes to stamping. I haven't at all felt like stamping but this Mojo108 sketch inspired me to create this Christmas card that I totally love. This card uses a retired SU papers, ribbon and colours so I am probably going to try to create a similar card using the current in colours. I'm finding them really hard to work with because they are so bright and that's just not my style! I stamped the image in Jet Black StazOn ink so that when I coloured it in with my blender pens the black would not bleed. Once everything was coloured, I added dazzling diamond glitter using my 2-way glue pen to the snowman bodies and faces! I love the way it looks like the shine of the snow - you can see this much better if you click on the picture to enlarge it. I also added glitter to the top of the white brad holding the snowflakes.
The snowflakes on this card are SU little felt flurries (that were available last Christmas) and they can actually be purchased right now (for a limited time) at a discounted price of only $8.99! This price includes 69 snowflakes in three different sizes and 7-9 different designs for each size; snowflake designs in the colours baja breeze, riding hood red and whisper white).

Scary Skeleton
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian readers! I'm not much of a Thanksgiving craft type person so I thought I would share a Halloween treat instead.I've had this card in my head for a while and finally got down to actually making it. This card uses the new SU set Scary Skeleton. I love this skeleton image because of the way it is positioned - it almost looks like he's dancing. And it makes it great to add a little sentiment underneath the lifted foot. I chose not to do that for this card because I thought it made it look a little too busy. Also, I'm not quite decided if I want to colour inside the skeleton with a white uniball pen so he's actually white instead of black...? I know I should use current Halloween papers but I much prefer these older retired ones. Sorry.
