SC187, CC177 Groovy White Sands

This is my card for two SCS challenges: SC187 and CC177 (colours: groovy guava, whisper white and sahara sand).

I love the way that this card turned out! What a great colour combo!
Sorry the colour is so bad - I don't know why.

Bridal Shower Invitations

I've finally got around to making the invitation for my friends bridal shower (the same one that I made the cake party favors for).

I owe a huge thanks to teach0123 on SCS, as she made it possible for me to make these cards. I had the idea in my head and wanted to use this image from the SU set "She's All That" from the Occassions Mini. However, I didn't have the set! I put out a plea on SCS asking someone to stamp the images for me and she made a ton for me in exchange for some embellishments! We both win!

This is a close up of the front of the card: The main image is raised up with dimensionals.

This is the inside of the card - not too interesting but just showing how I used my computer to make the real red title and border (check here for how).
These cards also gave me the opportunity to play with some new goodies - my Scor-pal (which is amazing) and the accompanying scor-tape (which I used to attach the papers so it would be held strong for mailing).

Stamps: SU She's All That
Ink: SU basic black
Papers: SU real red, ww, basic black, real red dp
Misc: SU dimensionals

Special Delivery!

Today, I got woken up by the Post office delivering a package. I was confused because I wasn't expecting anything! When I opened it I found out my Mom bought me the Scor-Pal deluxe package!! Thanks Mom! She didn't even know I was wanting it but saw it and thought she'd give it a try!
I'm so lucky (or spoiled, whichever)!

SC185 Garden Thanks

This has to be one of my favourite cards I've ever made yet! I couldn't believe that I only just posted this card yesterday to my SCS gallery and it already has 17 comments!

This is my card for SC185 over on SCS.
I always find the black and white combo looks so good just on its own yet I don't do it often 'cause I'm always wanting to play with more colour, but I managed to leave this one alone. I finally am able to start paper piercing more as I finally have a template thanks to this blog candy I won from Jennifer at Glitter in my Hair. What a great template - a great alternative for those who don't want to spend a lot of money!

Paper: SU ww, basic black

Christmas in July

I LOVE the new SU Deer Friends set that will be available in the new catalogue coming out August 11 as a hostess set (thought I'm not too sure I like the way this card turned out). It's so cute and fits perfectly in the 1 1/4" circle punch. I always love stamps that let me use my punches more often!

I used this neat idea that Amy created to create the four circle piece. Really easy to do and her instructions are great on how to create your own if you don't have the chipboard. I accidentally glued my images on to the front panel when I was lining them up so I wasn't able to raise up the front panel like I was wanting to, remember that when you are lining your images up!

Stamps: SU Deer Friends, Short & Sweet
Ink: SU real red, chocolate chip
Paper: SU real red, ww, real red prints, Bazzill Basics brown java (I'm out of chocolate chip)
Punches: 1 1/4" circle

Piece-A-Cake (Or Not)!

I saw this amazing cake that Tara made for a wedding and knew that I had to create one for the bridal shower favors that I will be making for the wedding I will be a bridesmaid at. I think this cake inspired me even more because it is the same colours as my friends! I then followed her link and used the directions here that Linda posted. I know the template can be found elsewhere but Linda also has the icing template.

Here is a top view of my cake:

More of a side view:

And here is a single piece of the cake.

I used textured brown cardstock so it would appear more cake-like. For the same reason, I added glitter at the bottom edge of the inside middle icing so it would shimmer a bit by pouring glitter on to Zig Memory System's 2 way glue (although you can't see it well in the photo). I love the double score line on this layer as well. My Cricut was used to cut both the red and black flowers (black at 1 1/4" and red at 1"). I've left the rest a little plain because I'll probably have to add at least a second tier.

As for the title? Well, I didn't exactly find these easy to make for several reasons. My computer was having problems printing PDFs so I eventually had to use Grants, then some of the lines didn't show up all the way so I had to ruler them in. Then after that, I used snail adhesive to put the pieces together only to find out the next day that it wasn't strong enough so I had to use SU Sticky Strip. Overall, it still didn't take long, most of the time was just deciding what design to do.

Paper: SU WW and real red, Bazzill Basics brown java
Stamps: Autumn Leaves flourishes v:2
Ink: StazOn black
Ribbon: Spool O'Ribbon
Brads: Making Memories silver mini
Glitter: Stampendous crystal snow white

Basic Grey small magnetic snaps were used to hold down the back flap of the icing so the cake slice can still be opened to access the goodies. I'm not too sure what I should fill them with, any suggestions?

Heard from the Heart Preview

As soon as I saw the new set Heard from the Heart, I knew I had to have it. It's so cute and the sayings can accommodate just about any occassion. I combined that this week with my new favourite "in colour" tangerine tango. This colour is so beautiful.

This is a very simple card to make, but I love the way it turned out. As usual, I coloured inside the image using my blender pens and the tango ink.

Papers: SU WW, tangerine tango; polka dot paper - sorry can't remember who this is
Stamps: SU Heard from the Heart, Embrace Life
Ink: SU basic black, tangerine tango
Supplies: blender pens, Creative Memories cutting system
